SUMMER POLL #1: What did you think of “CBBC Live In Leeds”?

So, CBBC Live In Leeds is over. It saw CBBC hold a three day event in Millennium Square, Leeds and bring a whole host of stars with them. The CBBC Office team broadcast live from the stage over the event as well as having loads of tents for people in attendance to visit and get involved with.

Activities included preview screenings, science workshops and the opportunity to have a go at presenting and try new digital content. Plus a CBeebies zone for younger children.

Speaking back in April, Cheryl Taylor (she’s in charge of CBBC!) said: “We’re all very excited about the prospect of taking the channel on a jolly jaunt to Leeds this July. We’ll be there for three-action packed days with loads of events to help inspire kids in the city and all over the country to get the most out of their summer holidays. As someone who lives in Yorkshire, I’m delighted that CBBC will be showcasing this fantastic city to the rest of the UK.”

We want to know what you thought, whether you just watched the CBBC Office links, Blue Peter and Wild that came from Leeds. Or if you went along yourself, vote below in our summer poll:

Lindsey Russell has been voted for by the CBBC viewers as the next Blue Peter presenter, beating over 20,000 other applicants.

The 22 year old from Oxford will join Helen Skelton and Barney Harwood on the show as the 36th main presenter from September.

CBBC gave viewers the choice to pick from the final three contestants of Blue Peter: You Decide with voting being open from Monday (22nd July) till today (Thursday 26th).

Lindsey said: “This whole experience has been incredible and overwhelming – it’s just ridiculously amazing. I’ve been so determined throughout and I’m literally living my dream. It’s been hard to take it all in.”

Cheryl Taylor, CBBC Controller, said: “CBBC are always looking for new things to excite and entertain our audience and it’s brilliant that viewers have been so closely involved in choosing a new Blue Peter presenter. ‘You Decide’ has got everyone talking and over summer there’s plenty more on TV, mobile and the CBBC website to share with friends. Thanks to everyone who voted – we can’t wait to see how Lindsey gets on.”
